McBrides Camp

To develop a real understanding of the bush and the wildlife in this untamed corner of Kafue, then time at McBrides' Camp is a must. The thatched bandas of the camp discreetly blend with the natural vegetation at a beautiful spot on the banks of the river, in harmony with their surroundings and yet offering good standards of camp comfort.

The McBrides have a gentle and profound reverence of the animals for whom this place is and always has been home while for many visitors, perhaps one of the biggest attractions is the opportunity to learn more about lions. A walk with either Chris or Charlotte in the early dawn light is a uniquely thrilling experience

The rustic and locally constructed bandas have all that you need to feel comfortable in the wild, while the open-fronted sitting / dining area looks out onto the river and a nearby pod of hippo for whom this spot is home. Fully inclusive rates cover park fees, walking safaris in morning and afternoon, game drives in the camp vehicle, birding and boat safaris and use of a fly camp 14km from the main camp. Brunch, afternoon tea and dinner are included and guests are welcome and encouraged to bring their own alcohol.

 

 

Late check out policy:
Flexible depending on demand.

Policy on children staying with parents:
- Children welcome, however the evening dining is restricted to children over 12.

- Childern under 12 are also not permitted to go on the walking safari.

Cancellation Policy:
- 91 days or more - no charge;

- 61 to 90 days - 25% charge;

- 30 to 60 days - 50% charge;

- less than 30 days - 100% charge.
