Linda and Jacques Van Heerden were born and bred in South Africa. They have been in the industry for more than 2 decades including many years spent with hotel chains like Southern Suns and Sun International.
Jacques was born in the picturesque town of Bethlehem and Linda on the shores of Lake St Lucia. Both grew up in the country with Linda's father working for the conservation organisation in Kwazulu Natal and had the privilege of spending most of her life in game reserves and in the bush. They most recently spent 6 years in Mozambique initially working for Rani Africa on their islands and later at Barra Lodge in central Mozambique before coming to Zambia and Mukambi Safari Lodge.
Linda and Jacques provide professional management of this attractive lodge and care deeply for the environment.

COMMUNITY
Mukambi initiated and built a community school funded by donors who were guests that stayed at the lodge. All junior school classes are taught by fully qualified teachers and is managed by a headmaster. There are over 200 students. New projects for 2009/10 for the community include new housing for teachers and a computer centre.
ENVIRONMENT
Mukambi is committed to ensuring every possible measure is taken to conserve the environment including low energy light bulbs, solar power 16 hours a day, low emission EFI outboard motors.
