Check out our 6 day forecast of the area to geet a better idea of our climate!
Kafue National Park climate is just like Zambia's weather as it varies from warm and dry to a 6-month long, humid, rainy season and a cool, dry winter. The brief, yet very hot and dry summer is from September to November. Day temperatures peak at 40° C, with October being the hottest month of the year. The rains set in from mid-November, going on up to April, with tropical storms lashing the country. Winter sets in from May onwards, lasting up to August. Day temperatures in the cool season range from 23° C to 31° C (73° F - 88° F), During June and July, night temperatures can drop to as low as 5° C (41° F). Post winter, from September onwards temperatures again begin to rise very rapidly.
The ideal time to view game in the park is during the dry season running from April to October. During the rains, the Busanga Plains to the north of the park experience floods; many lodges close down and several of the park's internal roads are inaccessible. However, the park is at its most beautiful after the rains, in the early months of the year.
